Where Can I Buy Lobster Tails?

You can buy lobster tails in most major grocery stores. Wholefood, Walmart, etc. should all carry lobster tails.

Washing Lobster Tails

Whether you purchased frozen or fresh lobster tails, you should always first rinse off the tails’ exterior. Rinse tails in cold water and scrub the shell only to remove any excess debris.

Devein Lobster Tail

The vein, which runs through the center of the tail is the lobster’s digestive tract. Some lobster tails come already deveined, but if not you will need to remove it before cooking.

To devein a lobster tail, cut the tails open. Butterfly the tail using a sharp knife or kitchen shears, and remove the exposed vein with your hands.

Seasoning Lobster Tail

Use your favorite spices and herbs to season your meat. Salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, garlic salt are all good options. All spices and herbs together in a bowl with a little olive oil and mix to form a rub. Brush lobster meat with rub and let it rest for about 15 mins to absorbs the flavor.

  • olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 4-8 lemon wedges
  • 1 tbsp parsley

Instructions
 

  • Rinse tails in cold water and scrub the shell
  • Clean and de-vein lobster tails
  • Add salt, pepper, paprika, parsley, and olive oil to small bowl. Mix
  • Add spice rub to lobster tail meat
  • Rub seasoning onto lobster tails.
  • Let tails rest 15 mins before cooking
